Indiana Family to Family provides information, training, and one-on-one support to Indiana families of children and youth with diverse health and mental health needs, and the professionals who serve them. We aim to provide families with tools to make informed decisions, advocate for improved systems and policies, and build partnerships between professionals and families. We are Indiana’s Parent to Parent organization and an Alliance member of Parent to Parent USA; the state affiliate organization for the National Federation of Families; the state affiliate organization for Family Voices; and we serve as Indiana’s Family-to-Family Health Information Center.

Who we serve

Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) are children who have or are at increased risk for chronic physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional conditions. They also require health and related services of a type or amount beyond that required by children generally. INF2F serves Indiana CYSHCN ages 0-22.

We serve families whose children may have:
  • Physical, behavioral, developmental, emotional disabilities
  • Chronic or terminal illnesses
  • Mental health concerns
  • Learning disabilities and educational delays
  • Risk factors or signs of a suspected disability
  • A health condition that requires more frequent medical attention.

Parents, family members and/or caregivers are connected with a Peer Services Specialist who has lived experience raising a child with diverse health or mental health needs. Peer Services Specialists also receive extensive training on systems and services for children and youth with diverse needs to teach families how to access appropriate resources and navigate community systems to meet their child's care and support needs while providing a listening ear.

INF2F offers technical assistance to healthcare and education professionals, helping them understand the systems of care available to families. Service also includes delivering experience-based training for specific programs or resources or partnering on work groups and committees to inform quality policy, practice and systems of care.

In addition to one-on-one support, INF2F's electronic communication network is the centerpiece of our commitment to meet families where they are, by providing vetted informational resources and human connection where, when and how a family chooses.
