Kelly Thompson, Resource Specialist
Kelly is one of our Resource Specialists located in Central Indiana. Kelly previously worked as a Parent Liaison with About Special Kids. She has also worked in the non-profit sector in Development and Volunteer Management. However, her most important title is that of Mom. Kelly is married to her husband, Paul, and together they have three children, two of which have disabilities (Crohn’s disease, Anaphylactic food allergies, Developmental delays, Learning disabilities and Anxiety). Kelly has experience in advising schools with regard to food allergy protocol, navigating First Steps, IEPs and 504 respective processes, as well as managing the needs of chronic medical concerns. She enjoys sharing her experiences with other parents, and learning from them as well. Kelly is passionate about advocating for children with disabilities. She understands that when a child has special needs, the family does as well. She looks forward to serving other families in Indiana find the services, support and care they need in order to achieve the best possible outcome for the child, and their family.
Kelly received her Bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Political Science from Franklin College. She graduated with her Master’s in Public Administration in 2014 from Indiana State University. In her free time, Kelly enjoys volunteering, cooking, and traveling to fun, new places.
